When to see a doctor in person.
Not all urinary tract infections should be treated without testing or an in person evaluation. Immunocompromised patients (i.e. cancer on chemotherapy, AIDS, immunosuppresant therapies) should see a doctor in person for evaluation and treatment. Patients with structural abnormality in the urinary tract: surgeries, kidney stones, urinary catheters, neurogenic bladders should also be evaluated and treated in person. If you have a fever of 100.4 degrees Fahrenheit, you should also be treated in person.
